If you're attending, it's a good idea to have a list of the different types of vendors you would like to talk to at the expo. There are so many vendors there, that it can be overwhelming for brides and grooms.

October Weddings

if you're planning an October wedding on the Outer Banks, keep in mind that the October weather can be highly unpredictable. This weekend, we're looking for highs in the 60's to low 70's. If you're having your reception outside, you may want to have a heater or two on standby. Jackets for the groomsmen may also be a better idea than they would be in the heat of summer.

Your music selections

When picking music for your reception, it's good to be as broad as possible. If you restrict the music to only one or two styles, there's a good chance you'll be leaving a lot of your guests out of the mix. You're likely to want your favorite style of music represented heavily, but by mixing in lots of styles you have the most potential to engage the majority of your guests.

Wedding Day Weather

The weather on the Outer Banks can change quickly. When you're planning your outdoor Outer Banks wedding, it's always good to have a backup plan. 99% of the time it you won't need it, but you never know. I'm doing the music for a reception at Pamlico Jacks in Nags Head this evening. It's raining this morning, and the ceremony is scheduled for the beach. Hopefully it will clear up by ceremony time, but if the bride has a backup plan she'll have a much calmer day.

July Weddings

There aren't as many big weddings in July, as May-June and September-October. I think a couple of big reasons are that it can be awfully hot, and that the rental rates are at their peak. If you're a groom getting married on the beach in the summer, don't forget to consider the heat when picking your clothing. Light colored suits seem to be a favorite.
